Full Cycle Silviculture
MetaMetry employs an experienced team of registered professionals who develop and manage post-harvest silviculture activities to help our clients meet their reforestation obligations of conserving and improving a sustainable forest for future generations. We offers a wide array of Silviculture services which include Root Rot Assessments, Fire Management Plans, Slash Pile Burning, Growth and Yield Plot Establishment/Measurement, Windthrow Salvage and Treatment Plans and Block & Road Site Plan Development. Our team also manages post-harvest waste/residue and prescribes windthrow management strategies to protect forest landscape features.
Forrest Engineering
We are experienced in managing Multi-phase Forest Engineering Contracts for both Private and Public clients. Our team of forest engineers are experienced with coastal harvest systems including: Skidder, Hoe Chuck, Grapple, High-lead, Long Line, Yoader, Steep Slope Harvesters, Helicopter and Single Stem Development. We use Light Detection and Ranging (LiDar) or similar aerial imaging technologies for preliminary planning to determine harvest boundaries and road locations with deflection analysis for cable harvest systems. We also provide Timber Reconnaissance Evaluation, Forest Road Designs and Natural Resource Field Assessments.
Smart Forestation Technology
We employ state-of-the-art technology to monitor and plant trees while detecting wildlife and fires. We utilize a wireless sensor network (WSN) to distribute our range of sensors and actuators to be fed back to a central command for further instructions or rapid response. We can automate reforestation by using aerial mapping , drone technology, pneumatics, automation and ecological science. We work closely with botanists and forestry experts, and will use multispectral mapping UAV technology to select ideal planting sites and provide valuable follow up data on ecosystem health. Living in the age of technology, we can effectively harness this to restore entire ecosystems, scaling the global quest for carbon neutrality.

This is combined with drone based terrain analyses and information gathered from local landowners to create a detailed planting blueprint. We have developed technologies that allow us to reforest hundreds of hectares in a single planting session, including artificial intelligence and a GPS enabled automated-planting system to drive speed and efficiency in the field.
